PREGRAPHITY is the acronym of the research group related to the study of Prehistoric Graphic Activity included within the International Institute of Prehistoric Research of Cantabria – IIIPC (University of Cantabria).

The IIIPC is a mixed University Research Institute, created at the University of Cantabria by Decree 38/2004 of April 29 (BOC of May 10, 2004), and sponsored by the University of Cantabria, the Government of Cantabria and Santander Universities (agreement of May 19, 2003). Likewise, since 2004 it has been an Associated Unit of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (Institute of History, Madrid, and Institución Milá y Fontanals, Barcelona).

Currently, this working group, led by researcher César González-Sainz, is focused on the scientific analysis of prehistoric symbology, placing special emphasis (although not exclusively) on the graphic manifestations present on the Cantabrian Coast ( Spain), as a place of proliferation of this socio-cultural phenomenon during the Upper Paleolithic.
